TNT: Thursday Night Talks
Apr 20 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
| FreeFrom the wreck of Desdemona in 1857, to the tavern that opened in 1934, the name, Desdemona, has a special resonance for the people of Astoria. This presentation explores the connections between the ship, a large sand bar, a lighthouse, and a tavern, all named after Desdemona. Local historians Eric Wheeler and Lauri Serafin might raise more questions than answers in this well-researched, but light-hearted presentation.
The Clatsop County Historical Society’s TNT lecture series is a free event at Fort George Brewery on the third Thursday of each month. Doors open at 6:00 pm, with lectures beginning at 7:00 pm.
