Conceived and designed in 1896 by two leading Portland professionals, the Louvre was Astoria's premier hotel, tavern, concert hall and yes....bordello. Located in the heart of the city's 'blazing center', The Louvre was a high-class gentleman's club that displayed all the trappings of a Gilded Age palace of pleasure. Local historians Lauri Serafin and Eric Wheeler will share information and images that affirm the pivotal role of the Louvre in Astoria's social and architectural history.
