John Henry Trullinger
Astoria artist John Henry Trullinger (1879-1960) was a well-known portrait painter whose commissions included the likes of then Oregon Governor Oswald West. In 1909, John’s painting of his wife Sadie, Lady with a Parasol, was accepted for exhibition at Paris’ most prestigious art salon, La Société des Artistes Français. That painting, along with several others of John’s portraits and a few of his landscapes, now hangs in the Heritage Museum.
